What is Different Lives?
Different Lives is a project I started in January 2006 to document what I believe are the most fascinating stories within the United Kingdom.
Why are there lots of taster films and fewer full documentaries?
Being a cash-strapped filmmaker, I cannot fund more than a few documentaries a month, but as I discover so many fascinating personal stories each and every day, I thought it better to let you, the viewer, decide on which you would like to delve further into.
How does it work?
All you need to do is watch the taster films up on the front page, and then vote for the one or the ones you think are best! It’s as easy as that. You’ll find the voting button on the page of that film.
I want to be in a featured film! What should I do?
Send me a letter! I’ll send you the address if you send me an email.
How can I support the project?
I ask not for your money, just for you to join with me in this celebration of humanity. Please enjoy it, as I have. However, an email or, even better, a letter of support would be fantastic.
Who are you?
My films are about reality - this is what I have always fought for, since school and beyond into the fiercely competitive world of professional filmmaking. And that is what I believe sets me apart, and justifies this website. Different Lives is a culmination of my living and breathing Britain for 30 years. While it is a combination of other people's stories, I like to feel that together, they make up the way I see the country I live in today.

Who made this site?
An old friend, Will Brown has very kindly designed this website for me. He's available to make things you want if you will pay him.
